Jeffrey Li

Hey, I'm Jeffrey Li.

_
I’m a sophomore at MIT studying computer science and business analytics. Currently, I’m a Software Development Engineering intern at Amazon Web Services , working on serverless containers with the Fargate Placement team. Additionally, I’m a part-time developer at Recovering Bro, a startup creating a cross-platform health and wellness app that fits in your pocket.
Previously, I served as the Director of the IT division at We Care Act NYC , a nonprofit focused on donating electronics to individuals and organizations in need. Now, I contribute to EcoAccess in an advisory role, focusing on IT and operations.
Before all of that, I interned in molecular pharmacology research at the Grimm Lab at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. There, I conducted experiments using statins to inhibit Feraheme nanoparticle internalization in macrophages, aiming to improve nanomedicine for cancer. During this time, I gained valuable wet lab skills in cell culture, viability assays, colorimetric assays, flow cytometry, and western blotting.
In my free time, I enjoy cooking, working out, biking, watching movies, and immersing myself in startup culture.

Here are some tools I've used in past jobs and projects. Hover over each one to learn more about my development journey.

3D Animation of Cancer

Millions of people are affected by cancer each year but millions more remain unaware of what it entails. The animation explains the symptoms, development, and current treatments for cancer. Its goal is to promote awareness for this disease. All animations were created using Autodesk Maya, a computer application used in 3D modeling, animation, and rendering. Python was used to automate repetitve tasks. iMovie was used to assemble the rendered clips together.
